Storage and use

Corneas are stored at a temperature of 31 °C, in a specially formulated medium. This offers the best possible environment for cornea preservation.

Corneas are shipped at temperatures ranging between 15 and 30 °C.
In connection with quality assurance, we do not take back stock of corneas once sent out under any circumstances.

NOTE:
Corneas must not become too cold, because they are highly sensitive to large temperature fluctuations. For this reason, you are strongly advised not to refrigerate the corneas after receiving them at the hospital. The transport package containing the cornea can best be kept at room temperature.

Detailed instructions on storage and use of corneas are also supplied.
